From beautiful love stories to nail-biting thrillers, these dramas will keep you entertained from start to finish!

Korea is well-known for its dramas, and for good reason. The storylines are captivating, the casting is well done, and the cinematography is top-notch. If you're looking for a fun and cozy way to spend your night, then I suggest watching some Korean dramas! Here are five of my personal favorites.

1. W - Two Worlds

This drama revolves around the romance and story of cardiothoracic surgeon Oh Yeon Joo and Kang Cheol the main character of a famous action comic called W. They belong to the same era, yet they exist in alternative dimensions.

Kang Cheol and Yeon Joo's chemistry is outstanding, and their dynamic is hilarious. You'll be laughing, plus your heart will be racing.

Perfect for if you are looking for a sci-fi, thriller, romance with a crazy amount of twists and turns. It keeps you on the edge of your seat the entire time, not to mention the plot is very well-thought-out and executed.

2. While You Were Sleeping

Nam Hong Joo may appear to be a normal woman in reality, she can see events transpiring in the future through her dreams. Soon her life changes when she meets two people, who have exactly the same supernatural gift as her, the sassy prosecutor Jung Jae Chan and brave policeman Han Woo Tak.

When they start having dreams of the future about one another, can they discover the reason why they were all brought together, and can they stop the people closest to them from getting hurt?

Objection, your honor, if you're a fan of thrilling courtroom dramas laced with mystery and romance, then this is definitely for you.

3. What’s Wrong with Secretary Kim

The series revolves around Lee Young Joon, the vice president of a company run by his family, who is extremely self-centered and believes very highly of himself. His secretary, Kim Mi So, has been by his side for nine years with no romantic relationship of any sort. However,  Kim Mi So is now leaning toward establishing her own life and wants to focus her attention on herself, so when she leaves her job, humorous misunderstandings naturally ensue.

After 9 years of their strictly-workplace relationship, can their relationship now blossom into something more?

This drama is based on a comic of the same title and is probably one of the most popular, well-loved kdramas around. It has a hilarious mix of comedy, and heartwarming workplace romance.

Pleae note: this is for a bit more mature audience (think the Notebook), I wouldn't say it is overly dark, but I think I should mention it talks trauma and the main lead's flashbacks scenes can be a bit intense.

4. Moon Lovers: Scarlet Heart Ryeo

This drama follows Hae Soo, who travels back in time to the Goryeo Dynasty of Korea during the total solar eclipse. This is the Korean dramatic adaptation of the Chinese drama Startling by Each Step (2011), however they changed it to be loosely based on King Gwangjong of Goryeo and contains versions of the other kings/princes and important figures during the same time period.

It follows an alternate version of history that was created due to time travel, the story is centered around Hae soo, her love life, and her court intrigue filled misadventures as she finds herself in a crazy and dangerous time in history, where uncertainty lurked around every corner and sword fights were a common occurrence.

This mature historical fantasy, romance story with a time-travel twist leaves you on the edge of your seat, and you will smile, cry, and eat popcorn alternately. Like many historical dramas, this one can be pretty violent, intense, and is not kid friendly. If I were to compare it with another show, I would say it has a very similar vibe and premise to Outlander.

5. Crazy Love

This Disney+ original drama centers on GOTOP Education's CEO No Go Jin, he is the most popular mathematics educator in the private schooling industry, and the CEO of the business. He has only a high school diploma, but has enjoyed all of his success due to his notable intelligence.

He is the perfect man with a handsome appearance, high IQ, and wealth but is a narcissist who is only interested in himself. After surviving a failed attempt on his life, and he is left him with amnesia, his secretary Lee Shin A boldly declares she is his fiancée in order to get out of a tight spot.

When watching this romance, comedy, mystery drama, be prepared for the unexpected. This couple is a perfect match because they are both wildly crazy and fit together perfectly. The title aptly describes what you will think while watching. buckle up and enjoy the ride!

In conclusion, there are so many great Korean dramas to watch. If you haven't seen any of these, I highly recommend you check them out. They are all available on streaming services like Viki, Disney+, and Netflix. Thanks for reading!
