Looking for an energy boast, or something warm and comforting to enjoy in the morning other than coffee? You're in luck because I have put together a list of my five favorites.
5. Black Tea
Black tea is one of my absolute favorites since it gives me a nice caffeine boast but does not make me have a crash like coffee often does. Not to mention, there are so many flavors and varieties, my personal favorite being Chai Tea.
4. Maca
I love to use Maca in Golden Latte, Hot Chocolate and Smoothies. It gives a great natural energy boast. It has been noted to help with memory and learning.
3. Yerba Mate
Yerba Mate is a tea made of the leaves and twig of the Ilex paraguariensis plant. This South American drink has caffeine and theobromine, much like coffee, tea and chocolate. It also contains a large amount of antioxidants. Unlike coffee, Yerba Mate boasts energy without messing with your sleep schedule. I like to add it to herbal teas like Bengal Spice.
2. Matcha
Matcha gives you a natural energy boast without anxious jitters, it has a combination of a caffeine and l-theanine which helps to promote focus. It has an earthy taste and is great as a latte. It is perfect for the winter as it boasts your immune system. Matcha also has a super high antioxidant level, one of the highest rating among major superfood.
1. Dandelion coffee
Unlike all the other options on this list, Dandelion coffee also known as Dandelion Root Tea surprising tastes a lot like coffee especially when blended with chicory, carob and ramon seeds like in the Teeccino brand.
It contains vitamins A, B, C, and D as well as a good amount of iron, zinc, calcium, and potassium.
Not to mention that roasted dandelion contains probiotics and antioxidants. Needless to say, this is a much healthier way to enjoy your favorite coffee flavors.
I like to make mocha lattes with it. I have only tried Teeccino however there are many good brands, but I personally suggest the cost-effective the option of buying a bulk bag of the root from a bulk herb company.
I hope you found this article helpful, also be sure to let me in the comments what is your favorite hot drink to sip during the cold winter days is. :)
